Grandhome Masterplan: Phase 2 presentation

On Monday 17 August, THE Architects will host a public drop-in event in the main hall at the Oasis Church on Whitestripes Road to provide an update on the overall plans for the next phase of Grandhome (Phase 2). Residents are welcome to drop in at any time between 3pm and 7pm. This presentation will detail the access and movement structure for the next phase of the development, as well as the location of the town centre and primary school, and the green and open space strategy.

These plans constitute the next phase in the delivery of the Grandhome Masterplan which was granted planning permission in principle by Aberdeen City Council in February 2015, and which accounts for 4,700 homes, a new town centre, education and retail provisions, and extensive public spaces. The Masterplan is led by The Grandhome Trust, a family entity that has held the land for more than 300 years, and which is committed to delivering a community of exemplary quality. It includes design principles and a design code to ensure that each and every part of the community meets consistent and high standards.

The homes which constitute the first phase of Grandhome are now all either complete or under construction; over the past 10 years – working with homebuilding partners including CALA, Dandara, AJC Homes, Malcom Allan Housebuilders and Places for People – it has delivered almost 400 homes, with around 260 on the way. The next phase will eventually include approximately 1,200 homes, as well as a primary school and retail spaces, and a high provision of green and open spaces. For this next phase, we are pleased to also welcome Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes who will act as lead developers, coordinating the delivery of planning and infrastructure. Initial construction for the next phase is expected to begin in early 2028.

Please do feel free to drop in on Monday 17 August to see the plans, and to ask any questions.
