Bringing festive cheer to Grandhome this holiday season

After what has been an incredibly challenging year, Grandhome wanted to bring some added festive cheer to the community this holiday season.

Grandhome first asked nursery school Banana Moon, located at the edge of the new development in Bridge of Don, to help with designing a festive card. The card featured a Christmas tree design featuring the nursery school children’s hand prints, and the star on top of the tree a paw print from the nursey school’s resident ‘therapet’ nursery dog, Hilda.

The cards were posted to Grandhome residents and were also available to parents of Banana Moon nursery school to buy, with proceeds going to local children’s charity Befriend a Child. Befriend a Child is the only specialist befriending charity for children in the North East and works to ensure children have a happy childhood and are given the best chance in life to succeed. It supports school-aged children and young people growing up in difficult life circumstances in and around Aberdeen.

The team also worked with Aberdeen-based company Illumin8 to decorate Davidston Pavilion, the main feature of its outdoor community space, Davidston Square. The Pavilion was lit up with an array of decorations to bring some added holiday spirit to the outdoor seating area.
